Global Test Market Review

Global Test Market is yet another terrific online survey company. They actually have surveys for people all over the world, so no matter where you are they have something for you! They are one of my favorites due to the frequency of the surveys.

I get survey invitations many times each week from GlobalTestMarket. I don't always end up qualifying to complete each survey, but I do often enough to have cashed out several times. Cash out is at $50. It's not difficult to get there if you try to qualify on each invitation they send you.

The surveys themselves are never too long and boring. Interesting topics make it fun to do. When the time comes to cash out, the check always comes promptly. I love that in a company!! I have to give Global Test Market the thumbs-up!

Opinion Outpost Review

Opinion Outpost is another online survey company where you can earn cash for your opinions. I've been a member of Opinion Outpost for a couple of years now and receive a fairly steady stream of surveys to take. One thing they do really well is have a dashboard where you can log in and see what surveys are available to you, which ones you have taken and how many points you have accumulated to cash in. You need 50 points to cash out. 50 points is the equivalent of $5 and when you cash out they promptly send you a check in the mail.

Opinion Outpost also has a referral program and you are awarded 10 points for each referral who completes at least one survey.

When you sign up with Opinion Outpost you should complete all of your profiles so that you can receive surveys appropriate for you. They keep all of your profile information private and only use it to send you surveys that relate to you.

I highly recommend joining Opinion Outpost. You can join by clicking one of the links or on the banner here:

MySurvey Review

MySurvey is an online survey company that pays you for your opinions. When you sign up, you complete a profile that provides them with demographic information so they can send you appropriate surveys. For each survey you complete, you are awarded points which can be converted into cash, prizes or charity donations.

I've been a member of MySurvey for over a year now and have made some nice spare cash with them. They frequently send surveys by email and they give you the option to download a toolbar which will alert you when new surveys are available.

MySurvey has been one of my favorite survey companies to work with. They have always been quick to pay. You can cash out at 1000 points, or $10. It's a great deal, and it's free to join. Check them out - you won't regret it!

I’m a GIANT SQUID!!

Huh? What the heck does she mean, "Giant Squid"??? I've talked about this really cool site, Squidoo where you can build pages (called lenses) for free on any topic you want. So I've been playing around on the site for a while and building lenses on various topics like working from home, theater, making home made ice cream, having gerbils as pets...all kinds of stuff. I've made some money at it too. It's been a blast and I've had a great time getting to know my fellow lensmasters and learning the "tricks of the trade" to build better lenses and make more money.

They have this "Giant Squid" program where you have to have 50 or more quality lenses. Giant Squids get cool lens making tools and all kinds of other things. So this morning, I was playing with my lenses and whaddaya know...I have a shiny new "Giant Squid" badge on all my lenses! Woo hoo!

Here's my lensmaster page if anyone wants to check it out: http://www.squidoo.com/lensmasters/EclecticWAHM

Squidoo is so much fun, and you can make some cash too. I have all my lenses set to donate 10% of earnings to charity also. I'm supporting NPR with my contributions. You can choose from tons of various charities to support.

Check it out...make a lens about your favorite hobbies, yourself, your favorite Broadway show...whatever. It's easy and FUN!

Celebrating SIXTY!

Yep, that's right...count 'em...SIXTY Squidoo lenses! I hadn't realized just how much I'd done over there. Squidoo is such a great community, full of creative intelligent folks. You can find information about almost anything. I've had a great time with Squidoo. Hope you do too!

So, to celebrate my sixtieth lens, here's a list of them all. As my character in Jekyll & Hyde says "take a look around...find something you fancy."

"I'm working"...

Working from home brings unique challenges...like having your family around. Folks wanting to work from home so they can be with their kids are in for quite a surprise. Unless you're running a home daycare, trying to spend time with your kids while working can be counterproductive. It takes a great deal of discipline to manage time working while properly supervising children. The good news is, as the kids get older, it does get easier.

I remember when my munchkins were toddlers thinking "oh, I can just work while they're napping." Sure...sometimes that works. Most times not so much. Many work from home jobs require you to have a quiet home environment. Anyone with toddlers knows this is next to impossible. If you must work from home while supervising kids, make sure you find work that is suitable to noise and constant interruptions. Otherwise, you will be stressed and your employer won't be getting what they pay for - your full attention. Your children need your attention as well. It doesn't seem ideal to work from home so you have more family time if you constantly have to say to your kids "not now, I'm working." Balance is key. Setting boundaries is important. When you're working, make sure your children know when you will you will be finished. When it is family time, say "no" to extra work or other interruptions.

Working from home isn't easy, neither is working outside the home. What's important is that you find the balance that works for you and your family. It may take some trial and error to figure it all out. You can do it! Just know that it takes time and adjustment, but it all works out if you work at it.

Got my own domain for my blog!

It's about time. I still wanted to keep my EclecticWAHM.com website as it was and not use a subdomain, so I purchased eclecticwahm.net to use for my blog. I did it through Blogger and it was SO easy! It only took about 20 minutes for everything to transfer over. So you can now access my blog at http://www.eclecticwahm.net/. The old blog address will still forward there, but if you want to bookmark the new one, that's the new address.

SO busy!

Last week, I finished my first block of online classes at the University of Phoenix. This week I started my next block of classes AND it's tech week for the show I'm in. We open the show this Friday night, so this week we're rehearsing in the theater and getting a handle on all of the technical aspects of the show, the costumes, makeup etc. I'm having a great time with this show. Opening night for Jekyll & Hyde will be very exciting. Tonight we work with the stage blood for the first time. ::::insert maniacal laughter here::::

So with all this going on, I probably won't have time to post until next week. In the meanwhile, good luck on your search for work at home jobs!

Why I Like to Work From Home - Reason#1

So I can have the time to pursue my passions like participating in live theater. Here's the latest show I'm in. We open June 20. If you're in Denver, come check it out!!

Performance Now Theater Company presents Jekyll & Hyde the musical.

Not about working from home...

...but because I'm theatre obsessed. The Tony Awards are almost here!! Woo hoo!!
